It’s You Against The World
Greetings all, I hope everyone is fine and dandy. Before we can start climbing the mountain of positive thinking, let’s start with the first *pillar. *I will go more in detail in a future post.
Don’t second guess yourself. The only person who will always be the hardest on you is you.
That shouldn’t come to a surprise. Somebody gives you a compliment and your quick to ask if it’s genuine. You look at yourself in the mirror and all you see is that big pimple/blemish on your face (hoping that no one focuses on it, so you end up avoiding others).
So you gave it your best shot and it just wasn’t good enough (for you), so you gave up. Sometimes you don’t even make it to failure because you never give it a shot to begin with. That ends up being worse, because you live your life thinking “what if..”
So how do you stop second guessing yourself? By understanding and realizing that the answer will always be “no”, unless you ask. What does this mean? It means that you have nothing to loose. So the next time you have the jump shot, go for it! You have a question in class, ask it! You have a great idea, act on it! Believe in yourself.. even when no else believes in you.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
May the luck of the Irish be with you!.. only if you believe in luck.
On a personal note, I don’t believe in luck. I believe in coincidences (I’ll get to this later). To believe that “bad” things happen due to an uncontrollable force (such as luck) seems silly to me. Things happen for a reason, thus cause and effect. The actions we take not only have an impact of an outcome in our daily life but also in the lives of other (I will go more in detail on a later post).
I’ll give you an example: A boy kicks a ball, the ball goes over a fence and lands on a man’s hand and he spills drink. The effect of the man spilling his drink was caused by the boy kicking the ball over the fence. Is the man unlucky? or, was it a coincidence that the man was drinking his green beer on the other side of the fence?
It is important to realize that things don’t just happen to you because they do. Everything you say, think and do effects the outcome of your day. This is why “good” things happen to positive people. On my next post I will discuss the fundamentals of a positive attitude. Till then, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
